Who is Kids in the Know? In one way or another, all of its members make the lives of young people
better. They open doors to education, help children learn how to read, and

Kids in the Know Membership List: The American Council on Education represents 1,800 colleges and universities, and other higher education associations. American Student List Company is the leading provider of lists of young people. The Association of Educational Publishers represents 2000 children's magazine, textbook, and curriculum publishers, school districts and educational associations. The Career College Association represents 725 postsecondary schools that provide more than 250,000 students a year with vocational education. Children's Book-of-the-Month Club is the children's division of the popular club. The Children's Group of the Foster & Gallager Company provides families with educational toys, games and books, such as HearthSong, Childcraft, Troll Learn & Play, and Magic Cabin Dolls. Sesame Workshop, produces Sesame Street and other television programs, books, magazines, software and films. The College Board is a national membership association of schools, colleges, and other educational organizations helping students transition from school to college. College Partnership provides full-service college and career planning services and resources. Cricket Magazine Group publishes Cricket, Spider, Ladybug and Babybug, which play a vital role in developing reading skills. Flicker Magazine offers kids a colorful and entertaining environment of games, articles and interviews. Gareth Stevens Children's Books' Web site features an online catalog with descriptions of the educational publisher's titles, such as Bloodthirsty Plants, The New Creepy Crawly Collection, and Secrets of the Animal World. Highlights for Children, with a circulation of nearly 2.5 million, is one of the most widely read publications designed to improve children's literacy. HiP Magazine is a publication for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, with stories and resources for kids, parents and teachers. Hopscotch, Inc. publishes Hopscotch for Girls and Boys' Quest magazines. Ivy West Educational Services, is a test-prep company providing information about testing and college admissions. Kaplan, provides students with test-prep courses, software and online services. Kids Discover Magazine is designed to encourage interest in reading among children ages 6-12. Merlyn's Pen Magazine helps educators interest students in reading and writing. The Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund protects and promotes the civil rights of Latinos living in the U.S. Musiker Discovery Programs introduce college to high school students at colleges such as UCLA, University of Michigan, and Georgetown, with college credit courses, community service, sports, trips and excursions. National Braille Press publishes Braille materials for children and adults. The National College Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization that administers scholarship programs. The National Council of Teachers of English works to improve the teaching of English. New Moon Publishing publishes New Moon: The Magazine for Girls and Their Dreams. People to People Student Ambassador Program founded by President Eisenhower, it provides educational domestic and overseas travel opportunities for elementary through high school students.
